History of Lisheen
Our Nursing Home has been proudly operated by The Joy Family since October 1988. Previously, Lisheen was the home of Christy Brown, who was born with severe cerebral palsy, then became an artist and distinguished author, writing “My Left Foot”, “Down all the Days, and “Of Snails and Skylarks”. A painting by Christy Brown hangs in the hallway along with a celebration of his life which was designed by one of our residents.
